Heating Facts

A dirty evaporator, condenser and blower could increase a heat pump electrical usage by 50% or more.

Just a 1/8th of an inch of soot can reduce a boiler efficiency by 8%.

Proper care of your equipment can save you real dollars on your utility bills.

All leading manufacturers recommend regular maintenance to maintain peak performance.

An outdoor reset control can be installed on any boiler commercial or residential and can reduce for fuel consumption by 10 to 15%.

Boilers
Boilers provide heat by using fossil fuel to creating steam or hot water. They require care and routine maintenance to maintain efficiency and longevity. We are experienced in all types and makes of boiler, which allows repairs to be carried out quickly and efficiently. S&J Jamrog has been specializing in the service and repair of commercial boilers for over 40 years. We offer expert service and complete installation on all makes of boilers.

Burners
A burner is a devise that burns fossil fuel to heat water or air to provide heat to your home or building. Whether you have a Beckett AFG, Power flame Type C or a Riello RL Series, or Waste Oil, our technicians will provide expert service.

Furnace
Gas or fuel burning furnaces all work on the same basic principle. The fuel is burned inside an enclosed metal container (generally referred to as a fire box or heat exchanger). The burning fuel warms the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger, now hot, radiates the heat into the air in the living area. The heated air is circulated to the area by a fan. We offer expert service and complete installation on all makes of furnaces.

Geothermal
A Geothermal system is a system that transfers heat from your home to the earth in the cooling mode and from the earth to your home in the heating mode. We offer expert service and complete installation on geothermal systems.

Heat Pump
A heat pump is like an air conditioner. In heating mode, a heat pump will collect heat from the outdoor unit (condenser), and discharge it inside through the air handler. With the help of a reversing valve, the flow of refrigerant moves in the opposite direction and heat is extracted from the air handler and discharged outside, creating air conditioning. We offer expert service and complete installation of heat pumps.

Hot Water Baseboard
Hot water baseboard heat is one of the most common forms of heat. Hot water from the boiler is pumped thru baseboard heaters usually located at the bottom of your exterior walls. We offer expert service and complete installation all hot water baseboard heat systems.

Hydro-Air
Hydro-air systems use a fuel burning boiler or hot water heater to produce hot water. The hot water is piped to an air handler, sometimes called a fan coil. Inside the air handler is a multi-row coil, through which the hot water is circulated. Air is then passed over the coil and ducted to the space. An aquastat or time delay can be used to allow the coil to heat up before turning the blower on, preventing the discharge of cool air that can feel uncomfortable in heating mode. We offer expert service and complete installation on all Hydro-air systems.

Radiant Heat
A radiant heat system is a system where heat is emitted from the floor and warms the people and objects rather than heating the air. This form of heat is very efficient. We offer expert service and complete installation on all radiant heat systems.

Steam
Steam heat is one of the first ways to heat. Steam heating systems are seldom installed now in small residential buildings but are still common in many older ones and some commercial buildings. They are simple in design and operation, but require a higher level of maintenance than modern heating systems. It can be plagued with a combination of simple fixes that will create an owner to want to scream with frustration. Some systems may have things done that should not have been done. Steam systems require care and maintenance and the steam traps and vents should be maintained for optimal performance. S&J Jamrog has been specializing in the complete repair and service of commercial steam heat systems since 1965.
